Week 7

This week has been amazing!! I am loving it - like McDonalds!! 

haha man I cant even imagine the love the Lord has for everyone because just being here I can't really talk and understand what people say, but I still have this burning love for them. I catch my self in the middle of lessons thinking i truly want the best for this family!! I know that our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Cristo wants the same for all of us!! We just have to turn to him!!  Soooooooo everyoene TURN TO THEM!!!

 

Umm this week, haha, in one of my lessons a women just started to breast feed... so there is that!! hahaha. Oh geez!! But yeah we actually now have two areas! Because my comp., Elder Olsen, only had one area then this last transfer a lot of elders left and not a lot came so they had to shut down some areas and extend some so Elder Olsen and I are doing work!!

Umm I walk a lot!! cuando usted es neuvo en el mision, todas las personas le quieran orar! haha I pray at every lesson!! 

The people we teach are so, so cool!! Half of them are pretty well off for Peru but others not so much!! I have been thinking of ways to serve those people! So if anyone has a idea write me!! 

Umm my first Sunday I had to give a talk, hahaha. I feel bad for the people!! JK it was chevere! 

Umm our ward is super strong for the people that go!! There are a lot of in-actives so the mission president told us to just focus on reactivating!! So we have a couple of investigators but of a ton of less activo!! And that is alright.

Oh, on Friday I ate papa johns pizza!! 

That sentence needed its own paragraph hahah! We had a noche de hogar (family home evening) and they bought pizza!! They are such a cool family!! I just love all the little ninos down here!! I need tp find candy to hand out because I ran out of all my stickers!! Those went fast!! Rhett, you would have liked my stickers!! They were DINOS!! 

Well keep the faith, enjoy and serve in your life!! We are all blessed!!

Week 6 - First Week in the Field

The time came and they kicked me out of the CCM!!

The CCM is amazing and helped me out so, so much. I had amazing teachers and I am so glad I learned so much Spanish there because I have faith that before my next transfer I will speak Spanish well!!

Umm goodbyes were hard and I didn't enjoy saying good by to everyone. But hey, that is apart of life and I learned that from the funeral of Elder Packer!! Goodbyes and death are meant and needed to happen in our life! They aren't a bad thing it is just life and we will see the people again!! 

So my district is Pachacutec,and zone is Umacollo it is in Arequipa. My companion is Elder Olsen!! He is 19 and he has been out 11 months and he went to Olympic high!! He is a way cool dude and he has already helped me so much with my Spanish!!! 

Umm yesterday we flew to Arequipa and then got out and were met by the office works and President Zobrist!! Everyone was way cool then we went on a quick tour of the city and that was cool!! Got to feed the bird like Home Alone or Marry Poppins, either or, it was cool!! The we went back to the mission home, ate, and then found out our comps and then left!! 

I got to my house and it is different. It is actually pretty nice and has hot water which is rare!! I unpacked then went out and helped unload the mission leaders car of like bagged cement and then went to the bishops home and meet with him!! It was awesome!! Today I woke up, studied, then cleaned our apartment because the Zone Leaders were coming to stay with us tonight so we had to clean the extra room and get it ready! Then I went to email!! Not much today which makes me feel bad because I am here to teach and share the gospel but tonight we have a lot of lessons!! so I hope that brightens up my spirit!

I love this gospel so much and I cant wait to go share my testimony and everyone else should too!! Because this is true!! Love everyone!! 

Week 5

In a week I am going to be kicked out of this place!! They are gonna tell me two words.... GET OUT hahaha! JK I am so so freakin' excited for the field!! 

I love p-day because I can just talk to a lot of people about this wonderful gospel!! I absolutely love it!! ¨Its the best" - Nacho

haha today I gave out a B.O.M to a guy named Juan!! He was way cool. I talked to him solo for like 10 min while we walked to the store!!l He told me my Spanish was good haha. I don't believe it for a second!! Umm no I love my mission so, so much and I cant wait to go to Arequipa next week!! Scared but excited!!

Being a zone leader is a big time commitment!! Everyday I write a quote on every districts white boards and all of them like it but some of them just erase it right after breakfast.... like my district!! It makes me mad and I don't like that they don't appreciate it but then I realized that I am not doing it for praise I am doing it cause I love my zone and I know it's a little thing that could help someone! So i have had a better attitude about everything lately!!

One thing that I am not liking is that i am forgetting music lyrics and movie quotes!! haha. I guess that's not important right now and my mind is pushing it out!!

I love my mission with all my heart!! I understand a little bit about how Heavenly Father loves everyone so much!! I have been asking for the Savior's love for people that I am having a hard time with and he gives it to me!! Like I am so content with life right now!! 

If I could change one thing it would be myself!! I want to work harder!! I want to really give it my all everyday!! But other then that the mission is amazing!!

Oh I am like best friends with the janitors and they are the funniest guys!! One added me on FB and is tagging me in a picture today!!

There are now more Greengos then Latinos in the CCM!! I love the Latinos though!! So funny! There are 2 Latino elders going to Arequipa so iIhave gotten to know them pretty well!!

Well I don't know much to say.. the CCM is boring but awesome!! OH AND THE TEMPLE IS THE PLACE TO BE!! I love it!!

 

Oh next week I don't know if I will be able to email because I will be going to Arequipa!! YEAH BUDDYY!!!

Oh I am a pro sewer now!! I patched up my shirt like it was no problem!!! People have been calling me the Bill O'reily of sewing!! hahhaha

 

There are 3 SUU t-birds here; another one came last transfer!! but GO BENGALS!!!!! ISU!!

Week 4 - One Month

hey hey hey

So I hit my month mark and it is going great!! I am loving it !!

On Monday all the 2 week older missionaries just left and it made me so, so sad!! ughh I was so close to them!! I would always eat with them and tell very uplifting stories with them.... haha nah we would joke around hahah.

Umm so I am the new ZL (zone leader). I just want to be the best servant to all the missionaries!!

On my mission I have learned and am still learning how to forget myself and learn to serve and love every one no matter what!! That is the best and happiest way to live your life.

So I was able to go out this last Saturday with missionaries in Lima South and go teach! We all met up at the church and we were all going on splits and I needed to go to the bathroom so I leaned to Elder Wilstead and said I need to go to the bathroom haha. So we walked out and to my surprise I saw a good ol' WESTLAKE THUNDER!! Kimball Davis! We weren't the closest of friends but still friends! It was really cool to talk to him!!

So I got pared up with the district leader and the bishop and when we went it was super humbling!! Every street we went down got worse and worse!! One house we went into was this old ladies and it broke my heart to see her living like that but she was so happy and grateful! In life we complain way to much!! Heavenly Father has blessed us so much!! we need to stop complaining and start thanking!! It really humbled me!! But yeah going out with the Lima South missionaries was awesome!!!

 

A sister here went to SUU!!! She is a cool sister!! I always say go T-birds to her whenever I see her even though SUU is making me so mad right now!! ( I got your back, sister) (word) haha

Spanish is going good!! I need to work on listening and speaking hahaha kinda sounds like everything but I am actually way good at reading and writing!!!

I got to give another blessing last night!! I love that I became a part of the Lord's hand in helping out his children!! I love this gospel!! It is the best!!

Week 3

3 weeks down in Eldertown!

hey hey hey!

Aright, well this was such a blessed week!! I love my mission so so much!! I just want to testify that Jesus Christ atoned and died for us!! He is the savior of the world and He has such a deep love for us!!!

Okay, so proud moment of the day!!! I PLACED MY FIRST EL LIBRO DE MORMON!!! Every P-day we get to go to the temple then to the store after. So I brought a Libro de Mormon with me. I told Elder Wilstead that we had to place it before we went back!! So we got done shopping and we were walking back and I kept on seeing people and asking Elder if we should talk to them but we kept wimping out!! haha. Then we said a pray and turned the corner and BAM! 4 mechanics on their lunch break! I went up to them and started speaking very, very poor espanol. I told them what the Book of Mormon was and Elder Wilstead testified of it and I challenged them to read it and they said yes!! If they read it or not it is up to them but I am so thankful the Lord gave two 3 week old missionaries the task to do this!!

ALSO I used my sewing kit for the first time this week for my shirt pocket!! (thanks mom!!) haha. And if I do say so myself, I did a hecka good job!!

Espanol is coming along!! Just gotta keep working and working!! 

We had a temple dedication on Sunday and it was amazing! Elder Uchtdorf was in charge and was so good!! 

I love being a fake investigator to Elders or Hermanas haha. The last time I was a blind old lady named Rrian hahaha.  Man i kill myself!! ...¨Slow down Hades you're going to work your self to death! HA work yourself to death! I kill myself!!!¨ - Disney's Hercules

So the Elders who have been here two more weeks are like my best friends!! Elder Vance, he is my favorite, we joke around so much!! (wish he was going to my mission!!) Elder wilde ( just out of high school but sweet guy. Played basketball and is like 6´4) Elder Craig (FROM ALABAMA ROLL DOWN TIDE, WAR EAGLE) hahah and he acts like he is from the south!! He dated a 26 year old and is planning on marring her... he is 19... hahah i love him so much!! And Elder Ridick!! Ridick is the zone leader and just a way cool guy!! Oh and remember Elder Gurkens?! haha we are still doing push ups everyday and he is my workout buddy forever haha. Love that kid!!

So there is this super secret tradition of the MTC and I'll tell you about it next email!! So cool and So funny!!!!

Oh everyone read 2 Cor 4:18, I love it!! (it's what you do when no ones watching!!)

Alright and before I go I just want to say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to the best Dad and example I could ever have!! Love you!!!
